Final location survey and geotechnical investigation for Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project have been completed: Railways Minister

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told Lok Sabha on Wednesday that the final location survey and the geotechnical investigation for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project have been completed. In a written answer, he said, the statutory clearances relating to wildlife, Coastal Regulation Zone and Forest Clearance have been obtained. He said, the joint measurement survey for 295 villages has also been completed and there are only two more villages that need to be covered.<br />''<br />''Mr. Vaishvaw said, the timeline for the commissioning of the project would be fixed after the assessment of the impact of COVID-19 and after the completion of land acquisition in Maharashtra. He informed that 17 thousand and nine crore rupees has been incurred for the project till October end this year. The expenditure has been primarily on land acquisition, shifting of utilities and contractual payments.<br />''<br />''<br />
