The fourth and final cricket Test between India and England at Nagpur seems heading towards a draw. At close of play on the penultimate day today, the visitors were having an overall lead of 165 runs, after making 161 for three in their second innings. Jonathan Trott on 66 and Ian Bell on 24 were at the crease. Earlier, the hosts, replying to the visitors' first innings score of 330, declared their innings closed at 326 for nine. They had resumed at their overnight 297 for Eight. India conceded a four-run first innings lead. Later, a desperate India's push for a series-levelling win was met with a dogged resistance from England in their second innings. The hosts needed quick wickets but the fourth day track at the VCA stadium did not show any signs of deterioration. With just one day left in the game, a draw appears to be the likely result though all four outcomes — an Indian win, England win, tie and a draw- can still be possible. India will need to dismiss England as quickly as possibletomorrow and score the required runs to entertain hopes of aseries-levelling win. The scores so far: England 330 and 161 for 3; India – 326 for nine declared. England are leading the series 2-1.
