Hindi film Padmaavat released all over the country today amid protests and high security. In Mumbai, Police is maintaining a strict vigil outside theatres in the city. The city police yesterday took more than 100 supporters of the Karni Sena into preventive custody as they gathered to hold protests against the film at various places.<br/>'<br/>An official said as the Republic Day preparations are also going on in the country's financial capital, the police have already issued a general alert and security personnel are on their toes to avoid any untoward incident. <br/>'<br/>In Rajasthan, except few cinema halls, most of the cinema houses are not screening the film. Rajput organizations today called for public curfew, which saw the partial impact on many places including district headquarters. The State Government has made extensive arrangements of security to maintain law and order in the state. The additional police force has been deployed at Chittorgarh as Rani Padmani hails from this place.<br/>'<br/>In Madhya Pradesh, the multiplex association has decided not to screen the movie in the state. Principle Secretary V.P Singh said that sufficient security will be provided to the Cinema halls and Multiplexes showing the movie. <br/>'<br/>In Uttar Pradesh armed policemen stationed at vantage points where the film is screened to tackle any trouble.The Supreme Court had last week paved the way for the nationwide release of "Padmaavat", by staying the ban on its screening in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. <br/><br/>The Supreme Court today agreed to hear on Monday two separate petitions seeking contempt action against four state governments and the Shree Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena for violating its order allowing the all-India release of controversial movie 'Padmaavat'.<br/><br/>Petitions seek action against Karni Sena and its office-bearers for allegedly holding violent protest and governments of Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh for their alleged failure in containing mobs protesting the release 'Padmaavat'.<br/>
