A Film Heritage Mission is being set up with an outlay of 660 crore rupees in the country. Addressing the National Film Awards Ceremony in New Delhi today, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Mrs. Ambika Soni said that facilities in Indian Films and Telvision Institute, Pune and Satyajit Ray Films Institute, Kolkata are being upgraded to accommodate more talent and to cope up ever increasing demand of film industry. The Minister said that this year a record entries of 161 feature films and 113 non feature films from all over the country have been received. She complimented prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award winner K. Balachander who has made monumental contribution to Indian cinema. Mrs. Soni said that 2013 will be marked as centenary year of Indian cinema. The Preident Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil is now conferring awards on the winners at an impressive function when reports last came in. Eminent film personalities are present on the occasion.
