At the ongoing 41st International Film Festival at Goa, screening of Marathi film ‘Mee Sindhutai Sapkal’ Directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, received overwhelming reponse, today.The biographical movie based on true story shows the enormous struggle of Sindhutai Sapkal, who grew up in the interiors of Vidharbha and had to beg for money and food to earn a living for herself as well as for her young daughter, from where she ultimately succeeded in nurturing an orphanage.Another film ‘Ghost Writer’, by a renowned US director Roman Polanski was screened today and made a good impact. Eight films are being screened under Retrospective section in the Film Festival. Meanwhile, International Film Festival of India in Goa, many new sections have been introduced to make the festival a grand success. The section showcasing Australian indigenous representation in films is a major hit.Eight international award winning movies are being shown in this new section. Nine movies in the contemporary Iranian cinema segment showcases the changing trend of films from that country. Including two films in the competition section, thrity four short and feature films have been screened on the seventh day of the festival.
