In Tamil Nadu, Filing of nominations for the June 17th biennial elections to Rajya Sabha to fill six seats began on Monday. Two independent candidates filed their papers on the opening day.<br/><br/>Filing of nominations will close on the 7th June. June 10th is the last day for withdrawal. The DMK has announced the names of the three candidates who are contesting the polls. Its ally the congress has been allotted one seat. <br/><br/>The opposition Aiadmk will be fielding two candidates. It alliance partners the MDMK and left parties have already announced their support to the Aiadmk in this election.
