Filing of nominations for assembly elections on in Tamil Nadu

In Tamilnadu, filing of nominations is on in all the districts. DMK treasurer Mr. M.K.Stalin filed his nominations on Monday in Kolathur Constituency in Chennai. The affidavits of the contestants would be posted in the website within 24 hours of the filing of nomination. The filing of nominations had begun on Saturday last. On the first day 54 candidates had filed their nominations across the state. Meanwhile, on the AIADMK front, the Party is yet to settle down on the issue of identification of constituency with Mr. Vijaykant’s party, the DMDK. Out of the 41 seats allotted to them, it is said that they have contention in two of them. The AIADMK is expected to announce the constituencies tonight. The Party’s candidates have been asked to file their nominations on the 24th of this month. The announcement of the candidates for the congress party is also expected on Monday or Tuesday. AIR correspondent reports, the party has been allotted 63 seats by the DMK ally. The political situation in the state is gearing up even as filing of nominations and last minute details are being finalized on leaders who are to begin their campaign trail. With lot of formalities to be undergone from getting permits of vehicles to be used for propaganda and procession to restricted use of official machinery in elections. Politicians have become careful enough to avoid violation of model code of conduct. A host of committees like the district expenditure committee, media advertisement regulations, procedures for hi fi advertisements like sending propaganda sms, toll free service to file complaints this time voters have been given the power to think and assess candidates to cast their vote.
