Filing of nominations begins today for 64 LS seats in seven states and 175 Assembly Constituencies of Andhra Pradesh

Filing of nominations will begin today in 64 Lok Sabha Constituencies spread over seven states and 175 Assembly Constituencies of Andhra Pradesh with an issue of notification for Phase eight elections to be held on the 7th of May. The states are Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

In Uttar Pradesh, nomination process will begin this morning for 15 constituencies spread over 17 districts of central and eastern regions. AIR correspondent reports that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will file his papers from Amethi seat today.

Today is also the last date for withdrawal of candidature in 89 Lok Sabha Constituencies spread in nine states and Union Territories along with 119 Assembly Constituencies of Andhra Pradesh where elections are scheduled to be conducted in Phase seven on the 30th April.
