Filing of nominations begins today for the Tiruchirapalli West Assembly by-election in Tamil Nadu to be held on the 13th of next month. AIR correspondent reports that poll arrangements are being made in right earnest by Election Commission for the Tiruchirapalli West Assembly constituency by-election. The last date for filing of nominations is 26th of this month and they will be scrutinized the next day. The votes will be counted on October 17th and the result will be announced on that day itself. The seat fell vacant following the death of sitting MLA and State Environment Minister Mariampichai in a road accident. The ruling AIADMK has already announced Paramjothi as its candidate. DMK chief Karunanidhi said that the party has not yet decided to field a candidate in this by-election. Meanwhile, the dates for local body polls are expected to be announced by the Election Commission today.
