Fight for CUP: India bat against S Africa

In the crucial Group-B encounter, the co-hosts India have won the toss and opted to bat against South Africa at the Vidharbha Cricket Association Ground at Nagpur. In this day-night encounter, both the teams will leave no stone unturned as a victory for the men in blue will guarantee them a place in the quarter-finals while a defeat for the proteas will further weaken their hopes of winning their first World Cup trophy. After victories over Minnows, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Ireland followed by a thrilling tie with the English, it's time for the men in blue to silence those who feel that Team India is vulnerable when it comes to a formidable opponent.Keeping in mind the recent 3-2 defeat at the hands of the proteas in January, India is all geared up to consolidate their pole position in Group-B and to seal a quarter-final berth in the ongoing biggest cricket event.Along with ferocious Virender Sehwag, the batting will be led by the lynch-pin of Team India Sachin Tendulkar whose double century came against South Africa itself. But that's not the pain in the neck for Skipper MS Dhoni, it's rather the inconsistent fielding and an out of order bowling. In a bowler-friendly pitch like Nagpur, a strike seamer will be heartily missed by India and with AB De Villiers, Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir in exquisite of forms, today's encounter can easily be termed as anybody's game.
