The 5th phase Assembly election in West Bengal will take place in 38 seats covering parts of West Mednipur, Burdwan Bankura, Purulia districts tomorrow. The campaign for this phase of election came to an end last evening. Over 74 lakh, 7 hundred electorates will decide the political phate of 193 candidates. More than 9,400 polling booths have been set-up in four districts. The Election Commission appointed Special Observers Mr. Devasish Chakraborty yesterday who took the stock of the situation of election preparedness at West Medinapur district. Besides 20 General, 7 Expenditure and 4 Police observers are constantly monitoring the situation. AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that unprecedented security arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair polls. Two helicopters have been kept ready for air surveillance during the voting. The Director General of the CRPF Mr. Vijay Kumar also reviewed the security situation at a meeting in West Medinapur District yesterday.
