The fifth summit of BRICS nations comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa began in Durban today. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and President of Brazil Dilma Rouseff are attending the summit.
The Durban summit has attracted wide support from African nations with over 12 Heads of African nations gathering at Durban.Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi has also arrived at Durban. Morsi had openly sought joining the BRICS grouping during his visit to New Delhi last week.
