FIFA World Cup: Knockout stage begins with clash between US and Netherlands

The Knockout stage of the FIFA football World Cup kicked off on Saturday, with the Netherlands taking on the United States of America at the Khalifa International Stadium. The Dutch were ahead with 3-1, when reports last came in. Both the teams entered the knockout stage remaining unbeaten. 

Memphis Depay opened the scoring for the Netherlands in the 10 minutes while Daley Blind doubled the lead at halftime. Then Haji Right gave hope by scoring in 76th minute. Just minutes later, Denzel Dumfries scored his first goal of the tournament to make it 3-1 for the Netherlands.
 
In the second match tonight, Group C topper Argentina will face Group D runner-up Australia in the crucial knockout match at 12.30 a.m. India time.
