The draw for the first stage match-ups for the 2018 soccer World Cup finals in Russia was held on Friday. 32 teams have been divided into 8 groups. Host Russia is in Group A, along with Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay. 2010 champions Spain are placed in Group B with Portugal, Morocco and Iran.France, Australia, Peru and Denmark are in Group C. Group D consists of 2014 runner-up Argentine, first-timer Iceland, along with Croatia and Nigeria. Five-time World Cup champions Brazil will face Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia in Group E. Group F consists of defending champions Germany, Mexico, Sweden and South Korea. Belgium, first-timer Panama, Tunisia and England make up Group G. Japan is in Group H, along with Poland, Senegal and Colombia.The top 2 teams from each group will advance to the knock-out stage. The tournament will be held from June 14th to July 15th next year.
