The United States have become the first team to enter the knock out round in the ongoing FIFA Under-17 World Cup football tournament. In a Group A match in New Delhi today, they defeated Ghana by a solitary goal to register their second win in the group after beating hosts India 3-nil in their opening fixture. The all-important goal came in the 75th minute through Ayo Akinola. In today's other match at Navi Mumbai, Mali defeated Turkey 3-nil in Group B. For Mali, it is their first victory, after losing to Paraguay 2-3 in their first match. Turkey had played a 1-1 draw against New Zealand in their first game.Hosts India are scheduled to meet Colombia in their second Group A encounter at New Delhi at 8.p.m tonight. In another fixture commencing at the same time at Navi Mumbai, Paraguay will face New Zealand in Group B.
