Spain and Iran have joined Germany and the United States in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Under 17 World Cup tournament. In the Round of Sixteen matches today, while Spain beat former champions France 2-1 in Guwahati, Asian powerhouse Iran defeated two-time champions Mexico by the same margin in Goa. Spain will clash with Iran in the quarter-final tie at Kochi on Sunday.Two pre-quarterfinal games are now underway. At Kolkata, England and Japan were goalless till half-time. In the other fixture in Goa, Mali held a 2-nil lead over Iraq at the half-time. Germany and the United States became the first two teams to reach the knockout round yesterday.
