FIFA, the world's governing body for football, has suspended two top officials amid bribery allegations, while clearing its president of any wrongdoing. FIFA's ethics committee on Sunday said, that Qatar's Mohamed Bin Hammam and Jack Warner of Trinidad and Tobago have been temporarily suspended. They are accused of offering bribes of 40,000 dollars to influence FIFA's upcoming presidential vote. The suspensions followed Bin Hammam's announcement late Saturday that he was dropping out of the presidential election, scheduled for Wednesday. The move leaves current president Sepp Blatter of Switzerland unopposed in the race. The ethics committee cleared Blatter of any wrongdoing. Blatter was questioned after Bin Hammam said the long-time FIFA head may have known about the alleged bribes.
