FIFA Corruption Scandal: Court hears accusation against Michel PlatiniFIFA court to hear Blatter, Platini cases

A FIFA ethics court in Zurich today heard corruption accusations against the world body's vice president Michel Platini. The French football legend, however, boycotted the hearing leaving his legal team to fight his case. Suspended FIFA president Sepp Blatter had argued before the judges on Thursday that there was no proof that a two million Swiss franc (equivalent to 2 million US Dollars), payment made to Platini in 2011 without a contract was illegal. The 60-year-old Platini has also rejected any notion of corruption, claiming the suspect payment was part of an oral contract for work he did as an advisor. Blatter and Platini are both already the subjects of 90 day suspensions. The verdict is to be given on Monday .
