FIBA Asia Cup to be held in Beirut tomorrow

Asia's biggest basketball tournament, known as FIBA Asia Cup, will be held in Beirut, Lebanon from tomorrow. Indian men's team, led by Amjyot Singh Gill, will participate in the tournament in group A, starting their campaign against Iran on Wednesday followed by games against Jordan on Friday and Syria on Sunday. A total of 16 teams from Asia and Oceania will be vying for top honours. China enters the tournament as defending champions, having won the FIBA Asia Championship 2015 on home soil. The inclusion of Australia and New Zealand in the Asia Cup will only enhance the level of competition which concludes on the 20th of this month.
