Festival of colours Holi being celebrated throughout country

The festival of colours, Holi is being celebrated throughout the country today. The festival signifies the victory of good over evil and celebrates the arrival of Spring season. On this day, people apply Gulal or colours on one another, exchange greetings, savour sweets, and seek the blessings of elders. 

President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar have greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Holi.  In a social media post, the President described Holi as the festival of harmony saying it is a living symbol of India’s priceless cultural heritage. She expressed hope that the festival of colours will further strengthen the feeling of love and brotherhood among the countrymen and bring happiness and prosperity in everyone’s life.

The Vice President said Holi serves as a poignant juncture for people to rejuvenate their bonds and welcome the advent of spring. He added that it embodies the celebration of life and the abundance of nature. Mr. Dhankhar said – may the colours of Holi fill people’s lives with happiness, hope and harmony.
