Commonwealth Games Federation President Michael Fennell today said considerable work has been done in the Common Wealth Games but still some more work remains to be done.Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, he hoped that all the problems of the Common Wealth Games would be over in the next eight days. He asserted that calling off the Games was never on the agenda of the Commonwealth Games Federation and said it was monitoring the situation carefully on daily basis and he would be visiting the Games Village again.In response to a question about the delay in the completion process, Fennel said the blame and the responsibility had to be borne by all the stakeholders. He added both Games Fedration and Organising Committee had learnt lessons from this experience. He, however, said that the Federation had been raising issues regarding the smooth conduct of the Games, including security and cleanliness issues from time to time.The Chairman of the Organising Committee Suresh Kalmadi who was present in the press conference conceded that the delay was due to the fault of the Organising Committee. According to Organising Committe the cleanliness drive will come to an end this evening in the games village.He described the international zone of the Games village as excellent and praised the quality of food.In response to a question, Fennel said that the recent intervention by the Government had helped expedite cleanliness in the Games village and the drive was to be completed today. He also said the fire safety report of the concerned agency would also be available today.Fennel said the matters relating to transport, security and evacuation of buildings, the technology difficulties like wi-fi service, medical services and generally speaking all the matters that relate to living in the Village are being worked out.Meanwhile, the Delhi Government says the collapsed footover bridge outside Jawaharlal Nehru stadium would be re-built in four days. According to Government officials, the Army has been requested to build the footover bridge known as bailey-bridge. Another foot bridge being constructed by Public work Department will be completed before the commencement of the games.
