Six-time champion Roger Federer has reached the third round of the Men's Singles of the Wimbledon tennis championships. In the second round in London yesterday, the Swiss star recorded a hard-fought 6-3 6-7 6-4 7-6 victory over Serbian Ilija Bozoljac. Federer, who came back from the brink to defeat Colombian Alejandro Falla in his opening match, had an uncomfortable time against the big-serving qualifier. The number one seed finally prevailed in two hours and 46 Minutes. Federer now takes on either Frenchman Arnaud Clement or Australian Peter Luczak. In another match of Men's Singles, Serbian third seed Novak Djokovic beat American Taylor Dent in straight sets 7-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the second round. Three-time Wimbledon finalist Andy Roddick also moved into the third round with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, 7-6 win over France's Llodra. In Men's doubles, Somdev Devvarman and his Philippine partner Treat Conrad Huey went down to the Indo-Pakistani pair of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam Ul-Haq Qureshi in the first round in four sets 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6. In the second round, Bopanna and Qureshi will run into either 13 seeds Mardy Fish and Mark Knowles or the German-Slovak pair of Philipp Marx and Igor Zelenay.
