The Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office Mr.V Narayanaswamy has said that FDI in retail will provide two crore job opportunities in the next two years.

Talking to reporters in Tirunelveli today, he said, the central government has proved its majority in both houses of Parliament on this issue.

Mr. Narayanaswamy said that through FDI in retail traders can procure goods without middlemen and can be stored in cold storages. He said that electricity generation in Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant will begin by the end of this month.

Efforts are being made to complete the second phase of the unit and it will start generating electricity in three months time, the Minister added.
