FDI to grow by 40-45% in 2016 despite global slowdown: Amitabh Kant

Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, (DIPP) Amitabh Kant has said, FDI will grow by 40-45 per cent in 2016 in the country despite the global slowdown. Speaking to a News agency in New Delhi, Mr Kant said number of policy measures taken by the government this year would help India in becoming the most easiest place for investors. As per the latest available figure for 2015, FDI inflows during January-September period has increased by 18 per cent to 26.51 billion dollars.In 2014, India had received FDI worth 28.78 billion dollar. The sectors that have attracted maximum FDI this year include services, computer hardware and software, telecom, automobile and trading. Singapore is the top source for FDI coming into India, followed by Mauritius, UK, Japan, the Netherlands and the US.
