The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo, Mayawati has said that FDI in retail sector would adversely effect small traders and farmers. Addressing a rally in Lucknow, she said that her government will not allow foreign malls in the state as it would force local traders to shut their shop. She accused the UPA government of step motherly treatment with the Uttar Pradesh government.
