Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi says, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi- brand retail will help to promote industries and generating job opportunities. Talking to newsmen in Guwahati today, he supported the Centre’s move to allow FDI in multi-brand retail. Opposing the stand being taken by the NDA, Gogoi said that, BJP pitched for 100 per cent retailing when they were in the power. He alleged that BJP and its allies do not want progress and prosperity of the country.He also said that FDI in multi-brand retail will boost the agriculture and allied sectors, like ,manufacturing, logistics, integrated cold chain, transportation.
