In Uttar Pradesh, most of the major political parties have lodged their complaints about faulty and incomplete voters' lists. They have also demanded identification of officers aligned with ruling party at the state and their removal from poll process.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that Chief Election Commissioner Dr. S Y Quraishi and two other Election Commissioners V S Sampat and H S Brahma met with delegations of all major political parties at Raj Bhavan this evening. Main opposition, Samajwadi Party has demanded that officers and employees facing charges for working in favour of ruling party, should be removed from poll process during the Assembly elections. Party has also demanded that administrative officers posted in a district for the last 10 years, must be transferred before elections. State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has submitted a 51 point memorandum to the Commission, mentioning issues of inclusion of names of bogus voters in the lists and poor distribution of Voter's Photo Identity Cards. Party has alleged that BSP government has politicised the administrative set up in the state and some senior officers were working as agents of ruling party. Congress Legislative Party leader Pramod Tiwari has demanded that assembly elections in both Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand should be held together. He also demanded that elections must be held with the deployment of Central Para military forces. A delegation of the party also met the Commission separately.CPI leader Dr. Girish demanded that a campaign should be conducted across the state for including names of the youths who have become eligible as voter first time. He also demanded deployment of central Para military forces during the elections. Former MLA, Deena Nath Singh handed over a 7 point memorandum to the Commission from the CPIM.The Election Commission headed by the Chief Election Commissioner Dr. SY Quraishi will hold review meetings in connection with poll preparedness with all divisional commissioners and district magistrates tomorrow. The EC delegation will also hold meeting with the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary (Home) and the Director General of Police.
