Fatullah Test, Day 1: Shikhar Dhawan's 150 puts India on driving seat against Bangladesh

India were 239 for no loss at stumps on the first day of their one-off Test against Bangladesh at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah near Dhaka. Openers were out to prove Captain Virat Kohli's decision to bat first right and scoring big against a listless Bangladesh bowling attack. Dhawan dominated the proceedings from the start during his knock of 150 in just 158 balls while Vijay played a contrasting innings of 89 off 178 balls . The duo were hardly troubled during the 56 overs bowled in the rain interrupted first day's play. Both the openers Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay remained not out on 150 and 89 respectively. With a slow and flat track on offer, it had been an onerous task for Bangladesh's spin quartet , Shakib Al Hasan ,Taijul Islam Jubair and Shuvagata Hom. In total control at the end of 1st day's play, India batsmen will look to further suppress the opponents and post an imposing total tomorrow and beyond in the one off test.
