The Delhi High Court will take a decision whether the then juvenile, convicted in the gang rape and murder case will be released or not.

The court had on Monday reserved its decision on BJP leader Subramanian Swamy's plea, after the Union Government asked it to extend the observation home stay of the juvenile convict. Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Sanjay Jain appearing for the Centre, had told the court that the post-release plan made by the committee, set up as per Juvenile Justice Rules had many deficiencies that need to be corrected. He said the plan does not mention the mental health status of the juvenile, which is a mandatory requirement under the rules. Further, no follow-up action has been contemplated in the Committee's report.

The convict is scheduled to be released on this Sunday after spending three years in a remand home.
