The government today confirmed that the number of fatal accidents in Delhi came down by more than a half due to non-plying of Blue Line buses during the Commonwealth Games.In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, M. Ramachandran said that 42 persons were killed in the accidents between 3rd and 14th of October, 2010 during which the Commonwealth Games were held and Blue Line buses were off the roads as compared to 91 in the same period last year.He said that there were 41 accidents in all during this period in 2010 against 89 last year. The Minister also outlined a number of steps taken by the Delhi Police to regulate the plying of Blue Line buses to prevent road accidents.
