Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that there is a need for ingenuity in defence research and for working at a faster pace to make India global leaders.

Addressing a function organised by the DRDO in New Delhi this morning, he asked scientists to come out with innovative ideas to make life more comfortable for jawans.

He directed DRDO to fast track its work process so that the targets of research and development can be achieved earlier.

Mr Modi said, there is a need to identify more universities in the field of research and development.
