In Uttar Pradesh, farmers are now using new irrigation techniques under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY). The scheme aims to enhance water use efficiency in the agriculture sector by promoting appropriate technologies and encourage the farmers to use water saving and conservation technologies.<br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' Our Lucknow correspondent has filled a ground report. In the report he stated that drip and sprinkler irrigation systems are being promoted under Per Drop More Crop component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana.<br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' In Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh many farmers of Farah, Baldev, Govardhan, Saunkh, Raya, Nauhjheel and Thura areas are getting benefits of the scheme and they have started using Drip technology. One beneficiary of Thura area Vikram told AIR that by using drip and sprinkler irrigation technology he is not just saving water but also saving money and now able to get more yield.<br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' Under the scheme, farmers are getting subsidy on 80 to 90 percent cost of the drip and sprinkle system. This irrigation technology is enabling them to do farming in the uneven fields an also promoting horticulture. This scheme in playing an important role in doubling the farmer's income by reducing their input cost.&nbsp;<br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' <br />
