Farmers from western Uttar Pradesh extend support to new farm laws

Farmers from western Uttar Pradesh have extended their support to the new farm laws. A delegation of Hind Mazdoor Kisan Samiti (HMKS) met Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and submitted a representation extending their support to the new farm laws.<br />''<br />''HMKS secretary Satish said, the association fully supports the new farm laws that are in the interest of the farming community and will end farmers' exploitation at the hands of middlemen. He said, HMKS urged the government to consider some amendments in the new law to ensure that the MSP procurement continues, farmers have the freedom to sell their produce within and outside mandis and that contract-farming should be on crops, not on farm land.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Hind Mazdoor Kisan Samiti is the seventh farmers union that has extended support to the farm laws in the last two weeks. The previous groups were from Haryana, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.</span><br />
