In Haryana, 15 people, including eight policemen, were injured in a clash between police and protesting farmers. The incident occurred when the Mahapanchat called by Bhumi Adhigrahan Virodhi Sangharsh Samiti, formed by farmers to protest against acquisition of their fertile land at Asalwal village in Bhiwani district, turned violent on Sunday.The farmers set on fire three roadways buses, a truck and a fire brigade vehicle when asked to vacate the Delhi-Jaipur highway number 8, where they gathered after the Mahapanchayat attended by over 2,000 farmers, including some 100 women. According to sources, the Mahapanchayat turned violent when nobody from the Administration came for talks by the deadline fixed by the Samiti.
