In Punjab, about 100 farmers have been detained and tight security arrangements are in place at Gobindpura village of Mansa district .The farmers are agitating against acquisition of land for the construction of a Thermal plant by a private company. All road leading to the village have been sealed and no vehicle except those of police are allowed to enter in the village. About 2,000 police personnel have been deployed there to avoid any untoward incident.
