Indian Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has bagged this year's ICC People's Choice Award. Dhoni has become the second Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar who was the first-ever recipient in in 2010. Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara won it in 2011 and 2012. Sanjay Patel, Secretary, Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI received the award in Mumbai on behalf of the skipper, as Dhoni is currently in South Africa with the India team for the ODI and Test series, which begins on Thursday at Johannesburg.Other nominees for this year's People's Choice Award were Aussie Michael Clarke, Briton Alastair Cook, India's Virat Kohli, and South African AB de Villiers.The award, which was introduced at the 2010 ICC Awards in Bangalore, was voted upon by close to 2 lakh cricket fans around the world. The short list was nominated by an elite panel of cricket experts, which is headed by ICC Cricket Committee Chairman and former India captain Anil Kumble. Other members of the panel are England's Alec Stewart, Kiwi Catherine Campbell, Pakistan's Waqar Younis and South African Graeme Pollock.
