Families of tendu leaf pluckers to receive bonus in Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, about 12 lakh, 50 thousand families of tendu leaf pluckers are to receive the benefit of bonus amounting to about 138 crore rupees. The bonus is being distributed across the state through special distribution camps.The Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh inaugurated the state-level bonus distribution programme in Bhanupratappur in the Kanker district on Sunday. The bonus is being paid to the tendu leaf pluckers in addition to the wage of about 108 crore rupees that has already been paid to them during last summer.The state government has procured 15 lakh, 45 thousand standard bags of tendu leaf during last year. According to the policy of the state government, it distributes 80 per cent of the net profit earned out of the tendu leaf transactions to the tendu leaf pluckers in the state.
