<span style="color: #222222;">Newly sworn-in Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis resigned today after the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar, reducing the BJP-led government to a minority.<br />'' <br />'' Pawar is said to have quit due to personal reasons.<br />'' <br />'' Both resignations came hours after the Supreme court ordered the floor test in Maharashtra Assembly tomorrow.<br />'' <br />'' Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has asked Devendra Fadnavis to function as a care-taker Chief minister till an alternative arrangement is made.<br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress alliance has announced Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray as their leader and Chief Ministerial candidate. The decision was announced at the tri-party meeting held in Mumbai.<br />'' <br />'' Soon after Devendra Fadnavis' resignation, BJP MLA Kalidas Kolambkar took oath as the pro-tem speaker of the Legislative Assembly.<br />'' <br />'' The Governor has called a special session of the Assembly tomorrow where floor test will be conducted after the pro-tem speaker administers the oath to the 288 newly-elected members.<br />'' <br />'' The session will begin at 8 am.<br />'' <br />'' Following the oath, the pro-tem speaker will call for the floor test.<br />'' <br />'' The newly-elected members could not take oath even after one month since the results of the assembly polls were announced, due to political see-saw in the state.<br />'' <br />'' The 'Maha Vikas Aghadi' comprising the Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress, yesterday submitted a letter claiming support of 162 MLAs to the Governor.</span><br />
