Devendra Fadnavis Government today succeeded in winning the trust vote. The newly elected speaker Haribhau Bagde decided to take the voice vote and BJP could won the trust vote. Although the decision of the speaker came under fire by Shiv Sena and Congress. Both the parties criticised the decision and Congress has decided to meet the Governor and demanded to take the trust vote again by actual voting and not by voice vote.
After the high voltage drama BJP-led Devendra Fadanvis government today won the crucial trust vote in Mahararshtra Assembly by voice vote. Earlier, Senior BJP leader Ashish Shelar moved the trust and it was accepted by the voice vote. Speaker Haribhau Bagade also announced that Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde will be the opposition leader of the house. Shiv Sena had demanded for the division of votes but the speaker refused to accept their demand.
After which Shiv Sena MLA's were furious and alleged that the government is acting biasly and taking unconstitutional decisions. Congress leader Manikrao Thackeray has also criticised the decision and told that all the opposition parties will meet the governor. Congress leader Radha krishna Vikhe Patil said that the Government itself is unconstitutional and the government will have to seek the trust vote once again.
Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan has also demanded re-voting on the confidence motion of BJP government. Earlier BJP's Senior leader Haribhau Bagde was elected unopposed as speaker of Maharashtra assembly, as Shiv Sena and Congress withdrew the nominations of their candidates at the last moment today.
