In Punjab, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bibi Jagir Kaur has sent her resignation to Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal from Patiala on Friday. A special CBI Court of Patiala has convicted and sentenced Kaur to five years imprisonment under charges of forced abortion, illegal confinement and abduction of her daughter in 2000. However, the Court has acquitted her of murder charges.Three other co-accused have been sentenced to one year imprisonment each. AIR correspondent reports that Bibi Jagir kaur has been sent to jail.
