Extreme cold wave conditions continue to prevail in parts of Nepal

The extreme cold wave conditions continue to prevail in various parts of Nepal. Tarai, the southern part of the country is worst affected by severe cold wave and dense fog. The extreme cold weather has claimed two more lives. <br/><br/>One person died in Saptari district and another in Rautahat district due to biting cold. In last one week, at least 15 people have lost their lives in intense cold weather conditions in different parts of Tarai region.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has expressed grief over deaths of people due to extreme cold. She has drawn the attention of Government towards the situation and urged to take appropriate steps to tackle it. <br/><br/>President Bhandari has also requested NGOs, civil society, private sector and common people to help in relief and rescue work.<br/><br/>
