External Affairs Ministry has said that India will assume the chairmanship of the Wassenaar arrangement on the 1st of next month. <br />''<br />''Briefing media in New Delhi on Thursday, External Affairs Ministry's Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, the Wassenaar arrangement is a multilateral export control regime wherein member states exchange information on various issues like transfer of conventional arms. <br />''<br />''Mr. Bagchi said, India has also assumed the presidency of the United Nations Security Council on Thursday. He said, focus will be made on issues like multilateralism or counter-terrorism.  <br />
