External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj will visit Nepal on August 10

External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj will visit Nepal 10th of this month to participate in the BIMSTEC foreign ministers meeting to be held in Kathmandu during August 10-11.<br/><br/>She will also meet senior leaders of Nepal including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. External Affairs Minister will also attend a special programme organised by the Embassy of India to mark the 70 years of independence. <br/><br/>The foreign ministers of BIMSTEC will review the progress made by the group in various sectors and likely to finalise the date for fourth BIMSTEC summit to be held at Kathmandu later this year. <br/><br/>Established in 1997, Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) is a regional organisation comprising seven states-Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand. <br/><br/>The objective of BIMSTEC is to harness shared and accelerated growth through mutual cooperation in different areas of common interests by utilising regional resources and geographical advantages.
