On the occasion of International year of natural fibers, External affairs minister, Mr. Shashi Tharoor inaugurated the annual Dastkari Haat samiti festival at Dilli Haat in New Delhi on Wednesday. It included crafts by women from all the SAARC countries. Speaking on the occasion, he said that use of natural products for handicrafts is a great step for saving our earth from harmful materials. Natural fibres are healthy, sustainable, fashionable and cheap to use. He added that this platform of craftsmanship from different nations will prove beneficial for building relations with all the neighboring countries. The highlights of the crafts Bazaar are exquisite crafts and cultural features of South Asian countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Burma, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. The crafts Bazaar will continue till 7 January 2010 at Dilli Haat in New Delhi.<br/>
