Explosion kills two persons in Kerala

The death toll in the explosion at Karunagapally in Kollam district of Kerala has risen to two. The mishap occurred early on Thursday morning following a collision between a LPG Tanker lorry and car. Twenty persons with burn injuries have been admitted to various hospitals. The fire that broke out after the explosion has been brought under control.<br/><br/>Traffic on the national highway near Karunagapally has been restored. District Collector has announced a relief assistance of 5,000 rupees each to the kin of the deceased and 2000 rupees to each injured. State Health Minister P.K.Sreemathi has said that the government will bear the treatment expenses of those admitted in hospitals. Revenue Minister K.P.Rajendran has requested the National Disaster Management Authority to give necessary guidelines, to avoid such mishaps in future.
