In Afghanistan, at least 14 civilians, including women and children have been killed and four injured in an explosion caused by insurgents in southern Helmand province. An official spokesman said, the incident occurred when a minibus in which the civilians were travelling hit a roadside mine in Sangin district this morning. They were travelling from Gereshk to Sangin district. The area where the blast took place is a traditional Taliban stronghold which international forces are battling to secure as part of their nine-year battle against the Islamist militants.Meanwhile, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement that it responded to the explosion in a busy area of the district.
