Explosion in Iraq kills three, injures six others

In Iraq, three persons were killed and six others injured when two explosive devices went off in Kirkuk City on Monday. According to voice of Iraq news agency, an explosive device targeted the security guards of the Kirkuk police director, Brig. Burhan Tayyeb Taher, killing two policemen, wounding two others and causing damage to the vehicle. <br/><br/>The blast occurred in Wahed Athar area, southern Kirkuk. Meanwhile, a second blast hit an emergency police patrol vehicle, 200 meters from the first blast and in front of the technical institute on Baghdad road, killing one patrolman and wounding four others, including two civilians. Kirkuk is situated 250 kilometers northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
