Expedite efforts for release of kidnapped Indian: PM to Ashraf Ghani

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday raised the issue of the unfortunate abduction of Kolkata based Judith D'Souza with Afghanistan President, Ashraf Ghani. Mr.Modi met Afghan President on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Tashkent and requested him to expedite the efforts to rescue Judith D'Souza and extend all possible support to her family. Judith was abducted from Kabul, where she had been working with the Aga Khan Foundation as gender specialist for the past one year. Judith family lives in Kolkata.<br/><br/>Earlier, PM met Russian President Valdimir Putin and talked about several issues pertaining to India -Russia ties and other global issues.<br/><br/>Before leaving to India, Mr. Modi paid homage and offered flowers to the bust of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that Prime Minister has returned home after a short but productive visit of the SCO summit.
