India and Malawi are set to expand their economic cooperation in a big way. A range of topics including Trade and investment, infrastructure, mining and agriculture will dominate the discussions between visiting Malawi President Bingu wa Mutharika and Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh in New Delhi on Wednesday. They will also consider cooperation in small and medium enterprises and human resource development. Several agreements are likely to be signed between the two countries following the delegation level talks. AIR correspondent reports, this is Mutharika's first visit to India as President of his country. He had studied at the University of Delhi in the 1960s. He leads a team of six ministers of his cabint as well as a large business delegation. He will call on President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, who will host a banquet in his honour on Wednesday evening. He will also meet Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari. External Affairs Minister S M Krishna and Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj will call on the visiting dignitary. The visiting dignitary will be given a ceremonial reception at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhawan tomorrow.
