Exit polls indicate substantial gains for BJP in UP, Uttrakhand & Manipur; Congress & AAP neck and neck in Punjab

Pollsters have predicted the BJP as the largest party in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur while a setback for the SAD- BJP alliance in Punjab. Times Now- VMR in its Exit poll for Uttar Pradesh has predicted 190 to 210 seats for BJP out of 403 seats and 110 to 130 for the SP-Congress combine while 57 to 74 seats for BSP. However, India TV C-Voter exit poll gave 155 to 167 seats to BJP, 135 to 147 seats to SP- Congress combine and 81 to 93 seats to the BSP.<br/><br/>According to Chanakya and India Today-AXIS, BJP with 49 to 53 seats is closer to the majority to form the government in Uttarakhand.The state has 70 assembly constituencies. However, C- Voter has predicted neck to neck fight between Congress and BJP with each getting 32 seats in the State.<br/><br/>For Punjab, C-Voter has given clear majority to the AAP with 59 to 67 seats out of 117 Assembly seats. It has predicted setback for ruling BJP- SAD combine with only 5 to 13 seats while the Congress to get 41 to 49 seats. India News -MRC in its exit poll has given 55 seats each to Congress and AAP while mere 7 seats to BJP-SAD combine in the State.<br/><br/>In Goa, pollsters have given maximum of 20 seats to BJP out of 40 seats, while Congress is projected to get 10 to 15 seats.The new entrant AAP may get upto 7 seats. For 60 Assembly seats in Manipur, C- Voter has given 25 to 31 seats to BJP, 17 to 23 seats to the Congress. While India Today- Axis has given majority to the Congress with 30 to 36 seats and 16 to 22 seats to BJP.
